| Caligula was the emperor of Rome from 37-41 A.D. He was a grand-nephew of the previous emperor Tiberius. Tiberius willed Caligula and Caligula’s cousin being joint heirs. Caligula ordered for his cousin to be killed only a few months after Tiberius died. Sources say the reason for Caligula’s downfall was that he was insane. In 41 A.D. he was assassinated at the age of 28 by the praetorian tribune Cassius Chaerea and other guardsmen. |
